Hundreds of thousands of Norwegians packed city centres across the country 25 July evening to pay tribute to the 76 people killed in twin attacks last week. More than 100,000 people were gathered in central Oslo, forcing organizers to cancel plans to march through the city to the cathedral where the rows of flowers continued to grow by the hour. The so-called 'rose rally' was the result of an impromptu call posted on social networking site Facebook at the weekend. The Oslo district court on 25 July ordered Anders Behring Breivik remanded in custody for eight weeks on suspicion of the two attacks, including a bomb explosion that targeted government offices killing eight people
